Mastodon
Mastodon is a free, open-source, federated social network. That means users or communities can manage their own data while interacting if they wish with a wider network of more than 1 million users. Mastodon is part of the "fediverse" of federated social networks and is compatible with the W3C's ActivityPub specification.
Mastodon can be self-hosted or run through managed hosting.
