OBS
OBS Studio is a "free and open source software for video recording and live streaming" that can be downloaded on Windows, Mac, or Linux. OBS was created by Hugh "Jim" Bailey, and product and website maintenance are funded by contributions via Open Collective and Patreon. Corporate sponsors are identified on the Contribute page and include Twitch and Facebook at the premier tier. There is a robust support community which provides help in many formats and places including wikis, forums, and Discord chat.
How to use it
Before downloading, access your computer properties and check system type to determine whether your operating system is 64- or 32-bit. Then, go to the download page and click the appropriate icon to select your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux). Click "Download Installer (either 64- or 32-bit)" and allow the app to make changes to your device. Progress through the series of installation prompts and open the program. Add one or more sources, such as audio input capture or window capture, and adjust audio using the various display panels. When ready, click "Start Streaming" or "Start Recording." Please note other tools will need to be used for video editing or distrubtion.
